Help with an EJ22T
I'm planning on getting a new engine for my 1992 Subaru Legacy L.
My current engine is an EJ22 and has over 185,000 miles.
I want to know which is easier, to swap it with an EJ22t or to simply add a turbo kit.
Also, how difficult is it to convert a FWD to an AWD.
Thanks,
Nicolas

Well, the actual motor swapping is easy, but wiring is a b**** as it is with any subaru swap. As you also want to swap from FWD to AWD I personally feel that financally and time-wise it would be much smarter to sell and buy a Turbo legacy w/ Ej22t or even a RS or WRX.

Adding a tubro kit to an N/A EJ22 is a waste of time. I'm sure people disagree, but you can't just throw a turbo kit on and start boosting. You have to know a fair amount about tunning. Imprezastifan88 is right, go with a Turbo legacy if you must. You could swap the EJ22T block in, but you still have SOHC, and heads that don't flow to well from what I've heard. Then you could at least boost a worthwhile amount, but you still have the problem of finding a turbo kit that will do what you want. Just go for a car that is already turbo.
