My 98 legacy outback just went through its second engine and I need to replace it asap. I found a complete EJ22 engine assembly out of a 2001 impreza outback sport that i can easily get but I don't know if it will be compatible. I don't want to mess with any wiring. I just am looking for a 2.2 liter engine that will easily work with my 2.5 legacy. If this newer engine won't be compatible, does anyone know if any older 2.2s will easily work?
