The Twin turbo EJ20s all come from Legacys I believe. I think the HP has been over stated, but getting there isn't hard.

Is/was it a 914-4 or 914-6? The 6s had larger brakes and better handleing.. I think you diffently need less body roll and better brakes.

Putting a scoop just over the roof going down against the rear window, into the engine compartment, to blow on the intercooler would look cool.. I think mounting the intercooler in the rear trunk would be too far back. You could make the verticle part out of Lexan so you could see through it.

Why would mounting it in the rear be too far back, weight distribution concerns?

put a new sti motor in it. they are cheap, but i cannot state the price just yet. the 2.5 liters will do a 2000 lbs car good.

I would try to make the intake runner as short as possible to reduce turbo lag. Remember the longer it is, the more volume it holds , thus the turbo has to pump more air into it to pressureize it and that takes time = lag

I would put the intercooler right in the engine cover, the black vented cover to access the engine. And I would duct some air to it either from over the roof or from around the sides of the car to the intercoolers location.

I am in the process of doing a swap in a bug convertable. As for the intercooler, Spal make a sweet little 7.5" fan and a pair will fit nicely on the cooler in a pull or push setup. They can be mounted directly on the front trim piece of the stock intercooler. Be careful of the screw length.
Thanks for the info on the electric fan.

I want to mention that the person who originally posted this thread hasn't logged back onto the board since late May of 2003.

Yep, Sandrail guys do it all the time. I just purchased an EJ20TT, and I have to do a single turbo, injector/fuel rails, headers,T3/T4, and Motec Engine management swap do to the fitment in my bug (rear engined, the secondary turbo interferes with my starter on the porsche 6 speed G50).

If you are interested in putting this on your stock EJ25, leave the boost at stock level due to the higher compression. It's been done.

I was just about to put everything except for the longblock up on ebay, but if you are interested, let me know.

Everything would be included, vacuum lines, intake/exhaust manifolds, injectors, fuel rails...everything.

Let me know your price and if it's right, it'll be on your doorstep in a couple days.
