i just got a 96 awd 2.2 impreza with 205k on it needles to say its lost somepower lol ok alot of power so its time for a swap id like a ej2.5 and a six speed so what would i need to acomplish this and were should i start looking (year of impreza) for a good stout foundation for ground pounding 500awhp at the ground?? thax for any help u may have

 

You need to do alot of research, its alot more complicated then just swaping something in. And 500awhp isn't exactly easy.

 

that i know its kinda y im here but from the start my main goal is to get a wrx or sti motor and trany cuz i hear the internals r forged now when i swap i figer id have to re-wire the intire car for the new motor to work proprly correct?? would i also need to replace the drive shafs, half-shafs or would the fit up to the new trany?? this would be my first time at this so any and all advice is and will be dualy noted.


p.s. the only resone i dont just save up for a real wrx or sti is the sleeper facter (body will not be touched unless its needed)

 

on one of the other threads it tells me what i need off of the 1.8 for a 2.5 converstion my question is.... will the ecu on the 2.2 run the 2.5 like the 1.8 does??? (slight underpower) and will i need to adapt my throttle body off the 2.2 to the 2.5??
