2.5 RS Auto to WRX 5Spd & Diff

Our trusty 2.5 RS is having some difficulty and the dealership is trying to rake us over the coals for about $1600 for two head gaskets (leaking), valvecover seals, spark plug tube seals, timing belt and front crank seal. Here were my reactions, curious which makes the most sense:

1. Shelf the car and do the work myself, leave it at that and do nothing else.

2. Get a wrecked USDM WRX and convert the drivetrain and possibly the suspension.

3. Get a wrecked USDM STi and convert the drivetrain & suspension.

4. Shelf the car, do the work myself, upgrade the N/A rods & pistons to forged, put on a cometic head gasket or something similar and put a hefty nitrous system on it...do up the suspension and if possible convert the trans/diff to a 6 speed.

Any thoughts? We bought the car new, it's paid for, but we certainly haven't got our value out of it at 93,000 miles.

Its really up to you but i like option number 3 the best. STi swaps in RS's is just the sweetest thing to do.
