Didn't know anything about E85, so read a bit on the wikipedia and that e85 site. Seems like its not that great a trade-off for a daily driver. Some sort of power increase due to the higher octane, but a trade off for fuel economy. Plus it sounds like there is some long-term isseus because the ethanol is more aggressive a solvent than gasoline.

What is your perceived benefit by running e85?

running e85 gives you a higher octane which in result gives us more power when properly tuned with the right modifications. Also, there has been rumon of the effects of ethanol wearing down a fuel system in the long run but there have been a lot of people running e85 on a gasoline fuel system for a long time and have not had any issues. Ed@EQ has been very successful at tuning subies on E85 with great results. A few people that have been tuned that I know of have still gotten over 19mpg on their sti's and wrx's with quite a few bolt ons. The only reason a lot of us are not running e85 is mainly because there are not enough stations close to us, if we lived in EG or closer to sac then it would be a different story.

true for daily driving it might not be so good, but i dont travel much in my sti i usaully take my legacy instead, but i want to have e85 for ed to tune it for massive amounts of power, i can do it with 100 octane but its so damn expensive so the other alternative is e85!!
