unpleasanton

Going to Hot Import Nights Sergio and I were pulled over just entering the fairgrounds(big surprise). We were first asked to pop our hoods that we were suspected of street racing, we were both given tickets for modified exhaust and no amber in our headlights. The cop told me my car was far louder than a chevy truck with flowmasters! BS.. Everyone must understand that I have a HKS catback exhaust with stock dp. I was given a test where the officer stood behind my car and asked me to start my car and rev to 1500 rpms then 2 and 3, he said my car exeded the db limit and needed to be fixed. My question is how can you judge with your ears and not a db meter and i've heared enough trucks to know that he lied to my face about which is really louder. The bottom line is we are in a economic slump and the state of california needs revenue, so who better to supply this than the middleclass taxpayer! Our tax money is being wasted on police officers looking to intimidate motorists instead of looking for gangmembers, rapists, drug dealers and robbers because it doesn't bring in money for the state.

go to court, if he gave you an exhaust ticket and said your car was exceeding the db limit and didn't write down your db levels then I would take it to court and you probably will get off, just be very professional about the whole thing and explain everything. what speed did he pull you over at, what rpm's were you driving at when he pulled you over, if it was over 3k then its kinda hard to go with but if you were going below that, you should also mention that he had you rev higher sitting still than when you were actually driving.

sucks guys, my clutch foot keeps me away from those bastards.

i got pulled over on the way into HIN too... they told me my exhaust was loud, but not annoying and he said the reason he pulled me over was for my tinted out side markers. they popped my hood, i knew they didn't know what they were looking at since the cop had to ask me after looking at the car for 5 mins, "what mods are done to this". so i got a ticket for tinted sidemarkers and that was all.. but the worst part about the entire thing is getting harassed since im 17 and i own my own car.. when he saw my registration he said, "Is your father's name ryan too?" and then when i told him no, he preceded to chuckle. so now i have a ****ing fixit ticket due to him...

we had disscussed the fact that the place would be crawling with cops and we needed to really watch it, we saw the cops sitting on their bikes so we were driving 25 mph tops in 3rd gear. the kicker is that when we made the left onto the fairground road, the cops pointed to our cars 50 yards away they had already decided to pull us over. How can you see no amber in the headlights from 50 yards cause i know we weren't loud enough to get pulled over for mod exh. The pleasanton police don't do this at the goodguys shows i've been to those shows a half dozen times and seen cars (domestics) speed out of the parking lot and they looked the other way. Discrimination!

I can't agree more. As long as you just have a CBE and not a TBE you should be just fine. And I've been to a couple of Goodguys car shows there, and the hot rods always take off like badasses!
