Question Subie dealership I can get serviced at w/ a modded car?

My Air conditioner isn't working. I probably just need refrigerant added, but i wanted to get looked at because its never worked since i bought the car. Forgot to check the A/C while i was test driving.

I chose to go to a dealership since I don't trust the local shops to do it properly or know what to look for in case i need the unit serviced. I was thinking Angels Camp or a dealership in Sacramento.

My car is heavily modded. 2002 WRX w/ 2.5L shortblock, catless all the way through, EMS, etc...

Will the dealerships not service me since the car is modded? or does anyone know which dealerships are cool with working on a modded car??

Please help, going to Las Vegas this summer and I want to drive my car out there.

Thanks in advanced.

I still take my car to the dealership for service and they have no problem. They'll easily work on it. Now unless it's warranty work, then they'll care bc of the extra work that they'll have to do.

If you think about it, how many WRX/STIs are even stock anymore?

Hey, Angels Camp Subaru is out and gone. Now there's Sonora Subaru.
I work there and i'll talk to our head mechanic Andy and see if it's cool. The guys there are pretty lax about mods and stuff becaue i'm pretty much the only one in town with a modded car. haha
but you should come up here

I do A/C work....and I don't care how modded your car is.
Did you check to see if the system had any R134 in it?
I've repaired quite a few Subaru A/C systems, and easily 90% of them had plenty of R134 in 'em...but the expansion valve was faulty.

Could also be the O-rings on both sides of the compressor. I thought I had a bad expansion valve too. Turns out it was just the O-rings. Make sure they pressure test your a/c system.

Dealerships dont care about modded cars. The only thing the dealership cares about is if you mod while on warranty. and even then as long as it is SPT parts there are some mods you can do as well. If they dont work your car cuz its modded you shouldnt go there anyway. And i agree with the o-rings. that was the prob with mine. plenty of r134
