Intake Manifold Fun! (Lots o' pics)
Here's a project I busted out in just 12 hours.
I came across a set of TGVs and intake manifold from an 06 STI on eBay, so I snagged 'em up. I got the intake manifold so I could port and polish it a bit to match up with my TGVs I did and just swap mine out so I didn't have any down time. After matching up the intake gaskets, it didn't look like it needed and porting at all, so I just ran a stone and flapper though each port and got a crazy idea to paint it...
Most of the pics while I was working on it are with my Treo's camera phone. They aren't too bad though (surprise)!
Before...

Before polishing...

B4...

After a little polishing...

All cleaned up and ready to hit the 'blaster...

During...

After blasting...

All prep'd up and ready to hit the painting process...

After 3 topside coats and 2 underside coats...

Notice I painted a little over where I was supposted to (on purpose)

No pics for the next process, but I took a very light gasket remover and ran over all the places that weren't suppost to be painted so that I'd have a very definate line where there was paint and no paint. You'll see in the next few pics.
FIN~

And the paint is KRYLON KRINKLE BLACK. They also make a red krinkle, similar to the stock STI manifold cover. I bought it at Kragens, but other auto stores have it. Kragens was the closest place to me and all of their stores had this paint in stock.
