AWD doesnt mean traction all the time
A sad day for Central Valley subaru owners! Last night me, sarah (blue buy eye), and ryan (sleepy rex) decided to do a night canyon run. Nothing to crazy, just get out of the house and drive. We'll on the way home we were going through highway 49 from angles camp, we go around a sweet 20mph turn to an up hill grade to a long sweeping left turn and all i see behind me is ryan's headlights go off the side of the hill.
Ryan is ok and didnt get injured at all, but his car will end up being totaled. Im sure every knows ryan, and he is a really nice guy, and this really really sucks to have happen.
I know we all have suby's and we all think we can drive sooo good, including myself! But the fact of the matter is, none of us are professional drives, nor have the experiance to know how to handle our cars in every situation. This could have turned out way way worse than it actually did. So everyone on your canyon run, have fun, but dont push it to hard to the point you lose control, because even though we have AWD street tires are just not ment to handle that much abuse!

ya.. sad to hear about this... when sarah texted me i didnt believe her.. i know that turn very well...
where i live and up here in tuolumne and calaveras county there are alot of turns that everyone underestimates... all the time i see cars off cliffs, rolled over, or ran into a wall... these roads are very dangerous and should be taken with extreme caution at all times.. if u dont know the roads incredibly well, please dont drive them like u own it! next time im in that area of the wreck i will leave a mark of subaru somehow!
