I bought this car in July of 2011 mostly built, but somewhat incomplete. I have done lots and lots and lots of work to it since I bought it. The chassis has 36,000 (and change) miles on it, 9,000 miles on the motor. As far as I know, it has always been garage kept and never been driven in the snow. There is no trace of rust on the car. My goal was to keep it as stock looking as possible, inside, outside and under the hood. It's as subtle as I could make it.
I will sum up the history of the car as I know it. The car came from Maryland. I *think* it was Turbo XS's shop car, but I could be mistaken. It then went to a NASIOC member who had the engine and transmission built by Andrewtech. Both are super solid and have withstood many dyno pulls since I purchased the car. It was originally tuned on a UTEC by TurboXS, but I installed an AEM standalone and had it tuned by The Boost Creep for E85.
This car is truly one of a kind and no expense was spared with the build. I never bothered to add up what it would cost to duplicate this car in parts alone, but it'd be a lot. And then there's labor for all of the custom work that's been done to it. It's an absolute blast to drive, but it's not for the faint of heart. If you're looking for a comfortable daily driver, this probably isn't the car for you.
The car made 560 WHP on E85 at 23 PSI. Lots and lots of room to grow in there, but I didn't want to push it because, quite frankly, 560 is a lot of power.
I'm selling because it's time to move on to a new fast car.
I am asking $22,000. Not looking for trades, cash offers only. If you want it with Rotas instead of Volks, the price is $20,500. If you want it with Rotas and stock headlights, the price is $20,000.
Engine:
-STi shortblock
-Element rods
-Wiseco pistons
-Nitride coated crankshaft assembly
-ACL bearings
-EJ20 heads, ported and polished by Magnus
-Jun 272 cams
-Cosworth oil pump
-Ferrea valves, springs, and retainers
-GT Spec headers (unequal length & ported to match exhaust ports)
-TurboXS intake manifold
-TurboXS 3” inlet front mount intercooler
-TurboXS 3.5” v-band exhaust
-TurboXS 4” v-band down pipe
-TurboXS rotated v-band 35R kit (.82)
-Vibrant muffler
-Vibrant vacuum manifold
-AR Design coolant overflow tank
Fuel:
-Aeromotive 340 fuel pump
-TurboXS fuel rails
-SIR 2000 CC injectors
-Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
-AEM standalone
Transmission:
-5 speed PPG straight cut dogbox
-PPG output shaft
-ACT 6 puck clutch
-Kartboy short shifter
Suspension/brakes/wheels/misc.:
-Cusco coilovers
-Stoptech BBK in front
-Rear brakes are brand spankin' new
-Volk CE28 17x7.5
-Boost, EGT and oil pressure gauges
-AEM AFR gauge
-Blitz boost controller
There are so many other little things that I'm leaving off the list (STi key, lots and lots of money in various fittings, etc.).
I have two cats with V-bands that I bolt in for emissions. Before I upgraded the injectors, the car passed Colorado emissions with flying colors with the boost turned down. I am not guaranteeing that it will pass with the 2000 CC injectors, but if I had to guess, I'd say it probably will.
The Bad:
-Speedo intermittently drops out at highway speeds. It's DEFINITELY not an issue with the cluster. I suspect the speed sensor got damaged when the the dogbox was installed.
-The car spent many years sitting in a shop, and because of that, it has a few dents and scratches. The paint itself is in very good condition, however.
-The AC is still installed, but it doesn't work. The condenser is leaking. I'd imagine most people would just remove it, but I never could decide whether I wanted to remove it or fix it, so I will leave that up to the new owner to decide.
