You've heard this one before
This is a car that at MSRP alreay has a hefty pricetag for the demographic it is going to appeal to. Most people with enough money to throwdown 38K-41K are probably looking at used M3's or saving up for new ones. I know because I'm caught in that dilemma. Buy an STI now or wait a year maybe more and bring home an M3 (15K miles and no navigation but oh well)
You see, a very big part of the STI appeal is the amount of performance you are getting for the money. When car and driver pitted the 330xi, the S4, and the WRX against each other the biggest thing they we're raving about was that the WRx was in the same performace class as the other two cars but was almost half the price!
I have a deposit down to get one next month at MSRP (Carlsen Subaru, Redwood City CA). My nightmares are filled with images of M3's and Red Corvettes....
