2002 wrx wagon, hybrid + upgraded turbo
SOLD!
Price: 7k if it's out before the end of May.
Trades I'd consider (adjusted with cash depending on condition):
Triumph Street Triple, Yamaha FZ09, supermotos.
Hi Everyone.. First time poster here, but I’ve been an accountless lurker for years.
I’ve got a black 2002 wagon for sale with 116,500 miles. It's got a good number of bumps and scrapes, but it isn't terrible for a 11 year old car. The car was purchased from a forum member here @ 102k miles.
This is what came with the car:
- Tein SS coilovers (suspension has custom setting by AHQ)
- Whiteline front & rear swaybars with endlinks, front tower bar, H-brace
- Helix downpipe, STi up-pipe, STI exhaust
- Front AEM/Rotora BBK up front using stock calipers with CarboTech XP8
- Rear slotted/drilled rotors
- Cusco Brake Master Cylinder
- Rota 17" wheels
In addition to what was already on the car when I bought it, I had the blocked replaced, and added the following (all installed at 103,624 miles):
-Subaru EJ257 STI short block (Hybrid set-up)
-Cosworth pistons and rings
-Cosworth 2.0 non-AVCS cams
-Tomei 7960 turbo
-Power Enterprise 800cc injectors
-AP Boss fuel pump
-Tomioka equal length header
-STI Intercooler
-Shiggy's road tune
All work done at Auto HQ by Kevin Wong.
I haven't dyno'ed the car.. but Kevin verbally estimates ~300hp, 350 ft/lb torque, which is probably lower than what it really is. Low end isn’t particularly impressive... but past 4krpm it pulls hard all the way to red. A good deal faster than stock STIs once you get into 3rd gear at 4krpm. Everyone who has driven my car has invariably said, "whoah."
This car is a sleeper. Looks very unassuming (debadged the “WRX” in the back) and is surprisingly quiet. I also have a 2011 WRX with SPT exhaust, and that is quite a bit louder than this car. With all the cash put into making the car what it is, the last thing I want is attention.
Things wrong with the car:
-AC doesn't work.
-suspension can get loose and needs periodic tightening.
-front rotor is cracked. works fine for regular driving, but would not go to the track with it in this condition.
Other than that it runs awesomely. Reason for selling: I just picked up a 2011 WRX from another forum member and am probably going to start tinkering with that now.

I will vouch for the seller and for this car. I am the previous owner and did the suspension, down/up pipe, exhaust and BBK, all of which work was done at AHQ and dyno-tuned by GST.
As seller says, it got some battle scars but it's still a fun ride and damn fast.
GLWS dude!

Alright I really want this out of my garage. Dropping price down to $7k if you can get it out before the end of the month. Registration is due then and I'd rather not have to pay it.
