So I was shopping around for a car rack today. At one place I was at they had the Yakima and Thule racks/components side by side. Without a doubt Yakima makes a far superior product. I actually have never seen any Yakima stuff in person, so I was pretty sure I was going to go with Thule. After looking at the fit, Finnish, and built quality, I think I'm going with Yakima now. Just thought I'd put this out there for anyone else in the market for a roof rack system.
For a Ski rack set up on an 02 WRX 4 dr sedan without luggage racks (bare roof), you'll need:
One set of "Q78" Towers (4) $150
A pair of 44" bars $65
&
Freshsesh or Fat Cat ski mount. $139 or $199
Does anyone know of a good online source with better prices? I need to order this stuff ASAP.
