I have a Yakima rack I got off another iclubber last year. Works great - can't comment on price because he gave me a killer deal. I use a Thule Viper V2 bike carrier with it.

I brought my Yakima from Craigslist, the only thing I needed was to buy new was the four clips to fit the WRX. Works great...I think I paid $250 cash for the 2 poles, 4 towers, and bike rack. Thules are cheaper, but I don't use them, so I don't know about the quality.

checkout these racks...they're supposedly exclusive for the saab 9-2x but they're made by thule and works for the imprezas too, $170 for bars and the towers...which isn't bad, I thought...doesn't attach to wrx factory rails...

I prefer yakima, but thule stuff is nice as well. Thule is a little less expensive as well.

Racks can get expensive depending on what stuff you want since everything down to little clips is sold separately.

going to yakima.com you can build what you want and get an idea on the cost.

I bought a thule rack used of craigslist as well

I think it was $130 or something, then the clip kit was 45

Its solid, I dont think you can really go wrong with either one

I bought a yakima rack off a fellow I-clubber before for $50 for Q towers, Bars, and 6 Locks with keys. And bought the q clips on craigslist for $28. So keep searching you get a good deal.

If you have a sedan, consider http://www.saris.com/

I have a Saris 2 bike, and 2 board setup. I love it to death.

My car is getting salvaged (search my name for reasons) but i have a 2 bike thule with a ski rack the one that slides out so u can unload it.

Should be available next week. The ski part has never been used. comes complete to mount to sedan.

Go to THULE!

Subaru rack = rebadged Yakima rack.
I like my Yakima. I don't know anyone who doesn't like their Thule. Get whichever one you can find the best deal on. For me it *feels* better buying a Yakima because they started in Northern California, but the Swedes are all right too, I guess...

yep Subaru uses Yakima racks... IMO Yakima has the better rack system and Thule has better roof boxes. Both Yakima and Thule both have good accesories for bike and ski. Somthing to keep in mind... Yakima ski racks can be folded down between ski trips. I went with a whole Yakima system.

common misconceptions
Yakima - not japanese
Thule pronounced: 2 Lee
