WRX vs TSX
WRX vs TSX
I've narrowed it down to these two cars but I'd like to get some opinions. I see a lot of debate with the RSX and noticed that the WRX usually weighs out. I'll probably be getting some biased opinions but that's okay!!
The TSX is a sweet car, decent performance, awesome looks, nice interior, etc...
The WRX has more performance, AWD, tougher look, but UGLY interior (reminds me of a civic)
I haven't test driven either yet but I will when I have a chance
What do you guys think?

I think they are different types of cars, catering to different markets. I don't hear of the TSX coming up in a conversation of performance cars at all. I don't see them at road course events or at drag strips. The RSX seems more likely to be on someone's short list along with the WRX. If you're even thinking of purchasing the TSX at all, I would have to imagine that performance is not a very important consideration to you. It's a fine car but doesn't stand out for any particular reason.
Does you get much snow in your location? Do you have a practical need for AWD?

one of the big reasons I baught a wrx, is because they redesigned the interior. I love the 05 interior, it's so much better then 02-04. The tsx has a better interior, but for the cost it isn't even a comparable car performance wise. Maybe stock to stock a tsx might pull a little harder on the highway after like 80mph. wrx drives better in the snow. I think the tsx costs more stock.
I own both a 2004 WRX sedan and a 2005 TSX and I will tell you that these cars are nothing alike. To make things short, if you want performance, go with the WRX, and if you want luxury, go with the TSX.
They both are awesome cars but what they offer are quite different. The TSX is much more of a classy car with leather, dual climate control, and other junk like that. Yes, it has 200 hp, but by no means is it a performer. The WRX is a rally inspired car, meant to be driven aggressively. The engineering that went into the WRX had more of a purpose of performance rather than comfort and luxury.
I love them both, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd take the WRX. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

It depends, if your a "car guy" that likes getting dirty and working on your own car then the WRX is for you. I read somewhere that the TSX has a lot of torque steer and that they recommend getting automatic, something about that it was really easy to stall it. But if you want to cruise in quiet comfort then you should get the TSX.
You Should Take Everyones Opinion Into Consideration, and Test Drive Both And See What U Think.like Wingless Wonder And Dizzywrx Said Both Cars Serve A Different Purpose It Depends On What U Plan On Doing.
You guys are absolutely right, they're a different class...i'm not too sure which direction i wanted to go...
but after going to the autoshow yesterday (yes, i'm in canada), the wrx won me over...now, on to a test drive...
i'm not sure which year the dealer showed me but the interior looked like poo...i'll have to check out the 05!!
i'll definitely give them both a test drive...
the wrx looks a lot more aggressive...tsx is tame and like all of you say, more luxury...

^^ kinda sorta... more along the lines of a TL IMHO.. even then the GT is outclassed a bit by the TL.
if you have no practical need for performance/awd go with the tsx. its a much nicer car asthetically(sp?) speaking. acuras have awesome workmanship. so do wrx's in general. remember that a wrx is based on an "economy" platform(although subaru really doesn't have a true economy car)
one thing i like about hondas/acuras.. they are very detailed oriented when it comes to interiors. subaru on the other hand spends much more development into their drivetrains/engineering/performance.
either way, both are excellent cars- but definitely 2 different ballgames.
oh, and if you're single the TSX definitely has more of a babe factor than a wrx does

yup, acura's have more detail to them, and from experience, are very reliable...rarely do they have problems...
how about subaru's? do you guys run into problems much? i've looked on the forum but haven't found much so i'm guessing subaru has improved a whole bunch compared to several years ago...
hmmm the babe factor is an important key!! lol, good thing i'm not single...my woman likes the wrx so it works out!
The TL is very nice, but it is extremely heavy and by the time you add AWD (optional) you will break $36k.
As for the TSX and RSX, AFAIK both are built on the Civic platform; for that kind of money I'd at least want an Accord
As you and others have pointed out, a WRX or STI is a totally different animal than any of the Acura series besides the RL (which is $49k); built for different purposes, driving styles and first-impressions on other people. I'd say an Acura has better chick-magnet properties than any Subaru, but I've been married for quite some time so I'm not up on what the chicks currently dig.
Certainly the strongest advantage of the TSX over both a Legacy GT or a WRX would be gas mileage; VTEC engines get more efficient the harder you push them (turbos are the opposite!) and they can run on crap gas (all Subarus really want premium). I'm certain they have nicer interiors, even with the 05 update of the WRX/STI. And I am POSITIVE that they are quieter -- I've never driven a car with as loud of an interior as the STI, and I used to drive a VW Vanigan!
When you get into the $33k range (a loaded-out Legacy GT, TL, etc.) you'd have to put the Infiniti G35 coupe on the list; I'd never get one as they are as common as Honda Civics in my part of town (not joking!) but it is another car to consider if you need luxury and style more than performance.

Tires, drivetrain, engine, turbo whine, wind noise (hood scoop, side mirrors, grille -- just not very aerodynamic cars!) and of course the notorious interior rattles and frameless windows. Trust me, I ride in a co-worker's BMW 5-series and another's Passat several times a week going to lunch, and they both have "max performance tires" -- and are so quiet you can hear a whisper. Trust me, it isn't the tires!
