Beat you how? Drag race? It depends. If both cars are stock, a WRX should beat it if launched correctly. The AWD will be a huge advantage over the FWD. From a roll at about 25 mph or more, the Maxima would probably take you. I went against an Acura 3.2 TL Type S from a highway roll and we were even the whole way. If you do a road course, the WRX would beat it quite easily.
By the way, I own a well-modified WRX and a 2000 Maxima SE. The WRX is a faster car.

Which transmission is in the 03? If it's the 6-speed manual, assuming he isn't a retard, you're going to get your *** handed to you in a straight line, from a stop or rolling (255 hp, 246 lb-ft torque, no turbo lag, and less drivetrain loss than Subaru's AWD drivetrain). Those Maximas are not slouches. If he's driving an auto and your car isn't stock, you'd have a considerably better chance. At a track, of course.

2) Ive seen a Slightly Modded 2000 or 2001 Maxima beat a 3.2TL, Maxima parts add enourmous hoursepower especially when you are taking "Y-pipe" to a full catt back exaust.
3) Ive seen a Modded 2000-2001 beat a WRX and all it had was full exaust and Intake. If your not modded Then i wouldnt even bother with even a 2000-2001(3.0 V6) Much less the 02-04(3.5 v6) especially if it sounds deep, Intakes on Maximas Sound Mean U will be able to tell. Just a lil heads up, if you are stock that is
