From my research and talking to others. Installing a TBE & Access Port the wrx is able to run 13.30's on average. Now to me that is right there with a STOCK EVO or STi.

But do those things come with the WRX stock? no, does this include all the Suspension components, rims, tires, brakes, and all the other stuff? no so still the WRX is still missing out on alot of stuff.

How can you compare a $30k EVO to a $24k WRX? If it was with an STI, then I can see the comparison,..But the fact that the STI comes with the 6-speed and traction control is a better deal to me,..Until the EVO MR comes out,...Here in Hawaii, I hate the Mitsu dealership though and the markup,..probably why people are going to Subie dealers,..

But in any case, I think the EVO will always be a better track car because of how well the chassis is designed,...The STI seems to be the better "rally" car though and probably the more friendly car to drive on a daily basis on pot-holed roads.

Engine wise they are to close to compare,..Sure the EVO runs more boost, but the STI got the larger displacement (better for torque). I own a 90 Mitsu GSX and can say that engine can be modded with a lot of available parts,..The WRX/STI is same in that respect, except I think that the parts maybe more expensive cause the car is newer (used parts still desired too),..Engine wise, pretty even,..

For styling,..I like the looks of the EVOs exterior, the WRX/STIs interior,...

bottom line,..Id get a Subaru (STI or New Legacy GT) cause of possible better dealer serviceability and that I have more choice or which 2.5l Turbo engine I want in a car (WRX/STI/Legacy/Outback/Forester),..Plus, i have a Mitsu,..time to experience a Subie!!!

Price has got nothing to do wit it. If your gonna say that way, then why not consider the new VW R32 which cost almost $40K, that can be easily beaten by an Evo or STI.

I still didn't get any answer from my last question. If we were to fully hook up a WRX and an Evo, who would produce more HP and a more reliable engine?

You are right on the price thing, cause now that I have an S2000 I find people comparing it to the Porsche Boxter. No one can really answer your question fully with all the details, so I'll try to answer it the best way I can......

1. Any car can be basically made into a super car.......meaning an Ford Escort can be made freaking fast by dropping crazy stuff into it or even a minivan.

2. Because of this the question you ask is really un answerable, because there are so many variables out there. It all depends on money and time bro, that's all I can say about that.

How does a CAI help a wrx?

Um you need to do some research......

1. STi beats the evo in acceleration it does not crush it
2. Evo beats the STi in handling
3. BOV DOES NOTHING FOR PERFORMANCE JUST SOUND
4. CAI DOES NOTHING FOR A WRX

The EVO handles better...the STi comes stock with more power...so if you're a drag racer, the stock STi is better and if you autox the stock EVO is better. Simple. But the reason that most consumers get STi's or WRX's and not EVO's is because of two things:
-Subaru knows how to make every-day-drivable cars. The people on this forum might not realize it, but most people who buy cars drive them every day TO WORK, not on a track (drag or road or rally). Mitsu makes cars that don't last very long. Go to Tahoe or Breakenridge or BC and see what the locals drive. Mid 80's Subarus, no Mitsus. Those are harsh environments, so that says a lot.
-Mitsubishi is a sketchy company in general. Bad marketing, bad finances (rumors of bankruptcy, etc...), and inconsistant production quality. I'm not saying EVO's are bad (they're the only Mitsus made in Japan anymore so they're the best the company has to offer), but in general the comapany's production is bad so they don't sell a lot compared to Subaru.

The bottom line is that EVO's get rated better new, but a regular old WRX will be going in the year 2014 and most EVOs (and STis for that matter) will be dead as f***. I don't know about any of you, but if I buy a new car now I want it to last until I can afford another new one again (and if your mom and dad bought you a new STi or an EVO, you suck donkey dong).

how funny.. To these EVO haters, Should I start bragging that I will be smoking STi and WRX on daily basis with my EVO once the custom GT3071R turbokit is finished, let alone running over 25+psi, ARP headstuds, HKS cams, complete turboback and cooling system re-worked along with fuel system upgrades. Oh and mind you, should I add that Im running EMS as well? plus unlimited access to dyno tuning for free?? well i guess it wouldn't be fair, is it?

But WHO THE **** CARES! enjoy these cars while you can! No need to brag! there's always someone faster than you.

Ultimately, aren't WRX and EVO produced for rally racing? Since this is the i-club, we can brag about how Subaru beat Mitsubishi in 2002 WRC and how Mitsubishi trailing behind Subaru for this year's WRC?
