I'd still give the nod to the z06. Now, put that same z06 against an STI WRX with DCCD and LSDs front and rear, and the WRX will own the edge.

thats cool, I meant to make that more clear to tho sorry bout that, But the wrx has full suspension mods and all other goodies. And the vette or equivalent to it can be modded also. I was just wanting to see what everyone's opinions were because I think that the suby would and could give the vette or equivalent a run for it's money in the mountains, now open road and straight stretches is a big no no.

The Z06 would be harder to push to the limits on a mountain road than the rex... It would be interesting though.

Obviously, the better driver would win.
A great driver in both the WRX and the Z06: Vette wins hands down. It has a huge power to weight advantage and an aggressive suspension.
A marginal driver (most of us) in both the WRX and the Z06: WRX is more forgiving of mistakes than the big power rear driver. Assuming the driver didn't crash (he's marginal, remember), I think the WRX would have the edge.

True, they are not in the same class, and the Corvette is a pure sports car, whereas the WRX is a "sporty" jack of all trades. But, if the "equal drivers" were both mediocre, I'd think the vette would be sideways, facing the wrong direction or rolling end over end down a ravine before the WRX would do the same...Kosta was right when he said it would take a lot of skill to get all the performance out of vette.Originally posted by noWRX

Our wrx is 265hp at the wheels. We are only 2 to 3 seconds behind several z06's at laguna Seca. This month we're installing an s/r 40 APS turbo, and a quaife front lsd. Those three guys are toast.

Um, yeah, but a MINI Cooper S is a better handling car than the WRX...Originally posted by RichiQY

In the tiwsties, HP is def. not king. Actually, most of the time, less horse power is better as to prevent tire spinage. Dunno, who wins this show down, but I'd place my money on the vette stock for stock, and if they are upgraded (both cars) then I would still pick the vette as its active handling, especially when in sport mood is like "OMG was that a corner or a straight line?"
