What company does your engine run well on? I personally didnt notice a difference in my car (how well it ran, or MPG) between 76 and Valero. Its kind of like saying "Your baby will be smart if you read to it in the womb." in that once you prove one engine lasted a long time before it died on soley 76 brand gas, you no longer can prove that particular engine wouldnt have lasted as long on a different brand.

My car loves Shell gas. Makes it feel like a F1 beast.

Ok maybe not, but it's my usual spot for fill-ups.

Anything but Citgo.....

Well, there isn't a "technical term" for what you're asking. If one gas provider was demonstrably better, don't you think it would be obvious and well known? It comes down to personal preference and how your particular car runs on different gas. Some people don't want Techron-type additives, some people swear by 76, some people love Shell, some people say their car has run fine on Costco gas. The poll you were linked to gives a large amount of feedback from different owners, which is the only kind of information that's really useful when trying to make a choice yourself about something that's not clearly documented....

One type of gas isn't going to make your car more reliable, or faster......(except race gas, wisasses )

I try and buy gas from companies that are US based and do not support countries that hate us...I found a list online once, I'll edit and post if I can find it again.

Check this linky:http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/saudigas.asp

As far as any technical superiority, I doubt there is one unless you are outside California where they sell REAL fuel. (93 octane)

The bad thing about most of the companies that dont buy from the middle east is that they go through Venezuela(I think) and the leader of that country hates the US also.

overall all the gas sucks and is way overpriced, especially in Cali. just use 91 and youll be fine, according to the CA government. dont mind that the owners manual says no less than 93.

Wink

^Yep. Thats why I posted the gigantic link. There are tons of countries we buy from that happen to frequently burn our flag.

As far as technically superior fuel mixtures in Ca....meh...there are none. Methenol Injection might help..

The question has been answered like six times.
91 octane at any gas station is 91 octane.
The difference between 91 and 93 is 2. This level is designated by some sort of methanol(ish) additive. See my link for way more info than you wanted.
Obviously California legislators and environmental gurus have deemed that 91 is less harmful to the critters. Octane boost barely works at anything but fouling your expensive plugs, so don't bother with that route.
Your best bet is some Redline Fuel System cleaner and some 91 California crud gas then go get a tune.

This link might help deepen your question regarding octane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octanes

The answer to your question in post #9 is yes.

"run home Jack"

Look man if you're gonna come on this forum and try to preach that we're ignorant, you need to learn how to spell. As for the rest of your ramblings, it just shows you definitely belong on Nazioc.

On topic.

Most gas comes from the same suppliers and just the additive package changes depending on which company it's shipping to. Or at least last time I really dig into this it did.

Here is another useful reply to our friend slim:

I went on Ask.com and refined your question for you:
What brand of gasoline is best?

Answer: Link:http://www.vettenet.org/octane.html
