What can I get for my 2002 WRX (Sedan) $$

I am lookign at gettign rid of my 2002 WRX sedan. What do you think I could get for it if I sold it to somebody? What do you think I would get from a dealership?

Story:
Things jsut seem to be goign wrong with it. There is a lot of road noise and tire noise that has developed. IT is not typical tire noise but somethjing seems to be wrong with the wheels or the bearings cause it makes thsi strange rotating noise. Started up fron and not the back wheels are doign it. I think I will try and get an alingment done since I never have and see if that helps at all. But on top of that my alternator is nto properly working. I think the voltage regulator in it is bad cause it operates fine at times and at other times it drops to like 11 or 12 volts and the car seems to idle funny and all. I stalled one time and I saw the negine quit whne I pulled the battery cable off, while running, and then turned on my radio/AC/defroster- something which normally means you have a bad alternator.

I plan onf gettign the alingment and an new alternator but I have had enough. I love the car and the look but I am out of my warranty and this stuff should nto be happening at 40K miles. So I want to cut my losses and see it for as much as I can and look at gettign a new car. I can go cheaper and get a Mazda3 which I like or go more pricy in the beginning of the luxury class. But I am thinkign that the Mazda is more my speed for this time in my life. Plus it is less expensive.

Help me out and let me know what you guys think about everything and what do you think I can get for my car?

start from there. also depends on your local market. if those are in high demand, then you will get more $$

make sure that you are honest with a private buyer if you sell it through those means. you dont want to sell a lemon (unless it is to a dealer )

You've had two problems and you're going to get rid of it? I would get the problems accurately diagnosed by a local mechanic or dealer and then try to figure out my next step. Your problems could be very easy and cheap to fix, but you don't know yet.

You'll regret getting rid of your WRX. I promise you. I wish I never did

I have ridden in a Mazda 3 in the past week. Do not get this car. It is a shoddy piece of work. It has replaced the Chevy Cavalier as the official "sorority chick shuttle." No WRX driver worth their salt would ever downgrade to such a mediocre mallrat mover.

On the contrary, the Mazda 3 is an excellent car! And for 16-22K Canadian, it's a heck of a car!! The suspension and ride is awesome. Sure, there's no turbo and AWD, but you get styling, great fuel economy, and an awesome handling FWD.

back to the topic, get the bearings checked for sure. I heard about that problem happening... I thought they fixed it, though.

I had it to the dealer several times under warranty and they said they found no issue. He even said afterwards that he would replace the wheel bearign after warranty if it went bad. SO I do nto see hwo that is the problem- But when I think abotu it I can totally see that being the issue- I know that makes no sense but I can see Subary not wantign to do the fix and just putting it off until it breaks before I have to have it fixed.

News flash -- the Mazda 3 is a Ford Focus. I stand by my previous verdict
