hey

apparently, there are a whole bunch of dealers trying to sellthe evo at this kind of rediculous mark up. no car is worth that kind of markup. anyone who pays that is a fool.

Yep, my "hookup" dealer said $43,000. Thats over $12,000 in mark up. Ridiculous. Even rarer then 3 legged purple singing crocodiles NSX's don't marked up that much. And that is on a car with MSRP of over $75,000. Blarg!

I wouldn't doubt if Subaru dealers will mark the STi's up by as much.

Markup in San Diego is $3500 and $5000. The car is definitely worth $32500 and maybe $34k. But once the STi becomes available that markup is out the window. I told the dealer today I wouldn't pay any markup and drove away.

I checked out the evo's closer today, actulaly got to sit in it... I like em, but its just too much freakin mark up...

BTW, the salesman said first thing to me as I was looking "I got a 12.9 at the test day" Sure buddy... Like I needed to know that. The rest of the conversation was much better, the guy did actually go down to the drive day for the cars, which is cool, and he know alot, which was good, and he wasnt trying to BS him and I wasnt trying to BS him back so that was good too. But thats ok, i'd rather get an STI
