beleive me, that newly designed and larger VR6 is gonna be a monster. but in stock trim, the wrx is comparable. I also think it has a 6 spd so the gearing of the wrx is much worse. The VR6 is a gas guzzler, thats the great thing about the scooby, plenty of power and 23mpg to boot! It stinks without these cats, but I'll put up with the stink for a few horses.

My brother said their definately releasing them next year, He's already getting word of the training courses involved (VW tech) so watch out! plus finally say adios to the fugly beetle.

I think 0-60 is around 6.4 sec for the stock R32 according to motor trend. However there is a tuner version from HPA out there which turns the car into a monster. It packs about 550hp with the help of a turbo. Motor Trend tested it 0-60 in 3.2sec. Thats a number I cant even imagine. If you go onto Motor Trend's website and search R32 there is a video of them testing the car. It sounds really really mean.

My opinion is that the R32 falls in with other $30k luxury cars (G35/Maxima, etc). 3400lbs, 240HP AWD for $30k doesn't add up to much in the performance area so it must have some nice interior features. I'm just assuming it's got some kinda fancy climate control and a nice sound system, of course it has leather.

I'm sure if you throw a full supercharger kit on it then it'll move with the other $30k sports cars, that would probably make it at least $35,000 after forced induction.

The "...one is turbo and other is not" quote from the first post was the giveaway.

A standard R32 would convincingly walk away from a standard WRX on any mountain road.

The R32 is like a better equipped STi with a Forester XT engine. Excellent Haldex 4wd system, 6 speed, good suspension and wheel/tire package, superb interior appointments.

Add to that excellent low end/midrange torque, sharp throttle response, and a solid body structure and you have a very good car.

It just doesn't have 300 horsepower like an STi. An STi would kick it into the weeds the same way an R32 would kick a stock WRX into the weeds.

3256.2 lbs. for the UK version, so 3400lbs. Federalized sounds about right. Maybe a tick or two less.

Def the Evo, RX8, and 350Z. All can be had for under 30 if you can restrain yourself on the options.
