ok so i know this guy... ok its me but anyway. We had our first good snow and my buddy just got his DSM so we get the bright idea to go do doughnuts in the only open parking lot in my little town which happens to be the high school (this was at 11:00PM so there was no one around except us. were about to leave when a sheriff pulls in and turns on the lights. my buddy in the dsm manages to drive out of the parking lot but the direction i was pointed it really wasnt worth it so i just sat there. he was cool and his intention was good he just wanted us to stop but he ran all of out DL's and mine came up suspended from a ticket i thought i paid. he really didnt have a choice so he gave me a ticket for a suspended DL.

my question is: can i be given a ticket for a suspeded liscense even though i wasnt on the road? i was stopped in the parking lot and my buddy was in the car with me so realisticly he could have drove there.

 

I don't know for sure, but I've always thought you only need a DL to drive a car where the DMV has jurisdiction, which is on public streets. If it were private property I'd say no way, but since it was probably a public school parking lot, I dunno. Definitely worth fighting though.
