Team Caddy CTS-V

Did anyone see the race last week or so when the new Cadillac CTS-V's debue? I forgot what series it is but last years winner was the Audi RS6. Well this year with the introduction of the new caddy things have changed. At the Start of the race the audi launched and was in first followed by one of the Caddy's then a viper and a vette. The other CTS-V had a faulty clutch and stalled at the start so he was in last.

Well...... The first CTS-V ended up passing the RS6 and the Caddy that was in last place....well he climbed all the way up the pack and sat in second behind his team mate Damn. The first race for the new Caddy's and they ended up beating everyone even comming up from dead last. Keep in mind they race against Saleens, Vipers, m3's, 911 TT's, Vettes. Not only do they look good on the track, but you can bring one home for 50K...less then all the cars above. GM did a great job with that car.

It looks like SCCA is going to make some rule changes due to this race. Even things out a bit.

Amazing performance by Caddy though.

Cadillac has definitely raised the bar in the Speed GT series. The CTS-V is my new dream car; RWD, 400 hp, 6 speed and it looks incredible. I read that Cadillac entered the Speed GT series so they could finally advertise themselves as race winners, like Audi and BMW do.

I think the rules of this series dictate that winning cars get some extra weight added to level the playing field. But in any case it makes me feel good that a caddy can whup the competition.

Add weight, restrict air intake, restrict hp output... there are tons of things SCCA is allowed to help make the competition more fair.

I think the Caddy is the best looking car on the track. Good thing the SCCA doesnt have a rule against that.

Damn. Wouldnt you like to pull up next to some a hole in a cobra or something lime that with a tweeked stock looking CTS-V and kick him to the curb. I want one so bad. My dad is a retired exec from GM too so I could get a discount. Damn. payments would still be high though.

A $50,000 American M5 threat. That car is soo sweet. I pulled up next to one in traffic and said one word to him "sweet".

Cadillac's drivers this year are two talented veterans, Max Angelelli and Andy Pilgrim. Racing in the Speed GT series is sort of a step down for them.
