Taking my driving test soon
Taking my driving test soon
Hey I'm taking my driving test soon any tips???? Also had 1 question: If the instructor ask me to make a right turn at a red light, is it ok if I just wait until the light turns green and then turn? I've had a lot of friends fail because of stuff they did wrong at turns on reds.
Any tips would be cool.

just stop for 3 complete seconds (1 One Thousand, 2 One Thousand, 3 One Thousand) at the first white line THEN start creeping your way foward. If there are no cars coming then it is safe to go.
The right turn on red is how i failed my driving test the first time haha so now i have been scared into doing it right every time

Don't really have any tips other than make it clear that you check your side and rearview mirrors often. While you might look by just moving your eyes, try and slightly turn your head a little to show the person that you are doing it. As for the right turn thing. Many years ago when I took my test I had the same situation where I was asked to turn right and it was a red. I stopped then asked the instructor if I could slowly creep up to get a better view of oncoming traffic to see if I could go. I passed needless to say.

Yeah, I'd say that's the best tip we could give you, Over exaugurate your movements, looking in the mirror, etc.
This might seem like a no brainier but I've found that alot of people forget to do it; WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!!! Even when your not taking the test.
Good luck.

Use the blinker. As soon as you get it adjust the mirrors, even if they don't need to be. Make sure you know where all the interior controls are (i.e. hazards, wipers, etc.). No radio. Good luck.
What car you taking your test with?
Oh yeah, know your hand signals. I got a point taken for not knowing brake.

Check blind spots over your shoulder before changing lanes or pulling away from the curb (parallel-parked). A vehicle's door-mounted and inside mirrors do not give a full view of everything you need to see. I never back up using mirrors alone - I look back over my right shoulder to get a better view of what's behind my vehicle as I slowly back up into a parking spot.

If you know anyone who has already taken the test there then ask them to sit in with you as you drive around so you can get a little bit of a feel for the area and scope out anything that might give you trouble. I took my test up north at the Los Gatos DMV and they are more lenient there but there's this narrow bridge which always messes people up.

yeah, as stated before, exagerrate you movements. I lost a point for not checking my sideview/rearview mirrors, even though I was, I just didn't really move my head...
