Before the 9-3 Sport Hatch concept, there was the 9-3X concept, which debuted at the 2002 North American International Auto Show.

Many of the design cues from the 9-3X are continued in the 9-3 Sport Hatch, a strong suggestion as to where Saab styling is headed.
