its all up to if you prefer the little bit of handling that the evo has over the sti or the little bit of power the sti has over the evo. other than that its all about which styling you like more. cause they are almost identical in performance.

i don't really get it.... the evo we get outperforms the STi. both are sweet rally bred cars. however in the WRC the STi has consistently beaten the evo (mitsubishi pulled out this year...). doesn't it seem logical that the street STi would beat the street evo? oh well... just a thought

So EVO or STi...hard choice.
EVO or WRX...EVO but that's just my opinion. If you're looking for performance than the EVO is way better than the standard WRX.

Considering that dealerships are selling the Evo for $500 below MRSP now and some people have actually gotten more then $1000 below MSRP it makes the step up to the still price gouged STI look like its not worth it. I had a local dealership offer me $1000 under MSRP and damn good financing where as the Subaru dealership won't even talk price or test drive until they check your credit to see how much they can get out of you.

Its not that uncommon from what people have told me on a Mitsubishi site. If you consider its $500 below MSRP and no destination charges then its actually $1,000 below MSRP. You just need to point out that the destination fee is already included in the MSRP amount and by charging it again they are double charging for the amount. Besides they are pretty negotiable if you don't give a damn if you buy anytime soon. They can only make the mark up amount if they find somebody who's not willing to wait them out.

I have to agree with N/A on this one... comparing my experience with a Mitsu dealership to one of my local San Diego Subie dealerships was like night and day. The Mitsu dealership was far more willing to negotiate prices on the Lancer (when my friend bought it) compared to even when I bought my WRX back in 2001. I have yet to shop around for an STI, but I'm sure I'll probably run into the same problem. Mitsubishi also seems to have that "we can finance anyone" attitude. They basically financed the entire price for car through their banks with only $1k down. The dealership my bro bought his EVO at basically sold it to him for sticker price to accomodate his financial status. They wanted 34$k for it ($5k dealer mark-up), but in the end to sell the car not only did they give both me and him numerous test drives in the EVO, they omitted the mark-up. This is in San Diego mind you. Just my opinion.
