Unfortunately for me, in a storage capacity contest wagon vs. wagon, the a4 Avant has me beat by .1 of a cubic foot.
It appears that in the fuel capacity trials, the a4 also blows the doors off of any WRX in that it can hold a full .7 of a gallon more than it's competition.
Seriously the 3.2 has 255hp to a WRX's 227 (I dunno but I think the newer WRX's have like 230hp or so) but the a4 has what appears to be a good 200lbs more heft.
Are you talking drag racing? Road racing? Stump pulling? Manual or auto? Looks? Safety ratings????

Correction. I said the a4 is 200lbs heavier. It looks like it's upward of 400lbs. My wagon weighs in at 3407 (prior to installing the 6mt.) The 3.2l a4 weighs over 3800lbs. That's less than a GTO and about the same as a CTS-v.

Depends on the girl, really. Most of the ladies would prefer the Audi, but there are some who would prefer the WRX.

It didn't. That was pretty much when it was a generic stage 4 with stock trans. The car had a full tank of gas but it had been unloaded of assorted ish inside (no tools, garbage, gear, or spare.)
At an autox, the SCCA had 4 separate scales there for our use. Oh, that was with me in the car, too. A few months later, a local speed shop had those exact same scales and it weighed more or less the same.
About a year ago I took it to one of those places nearby a truckstop where semis can get weighed. At this point I had the 6mt and I didn't clean out the car. I don't recall how much gas was in the tank, but I was seated in the car and it weighed 3449.
