they ran 2dr. coupes from '93-98(?). many have talked about whether or not they should bring back the 2dr to be more competitive in the wrc. seeing as all the other teams, with exception to Mitsu, now have two dr. models. although i personally like the coupe more, i don't feel its nescasary to have a smaller car to win in the wrc.

i'd hve to dissagree ^
If you look at the past two years, the wrc has been dominated by cars that are substantially smaller than the suby. The 206 is the smallest and no one even came close to touching that car last year. Of course Marcus had something to do with that. This year the new focus, again smaller than the suby, has all the makeings of the car to beat in the year to come. Scoda even did their homework and downsized in order to become more competative. I am sure that the engineers at Subaru are doing what they can to get a competative car for burns and solburg to campain next year. What about a 2 door wagon? hummmmm

it'd be nice to see a WRX coupe on the market here. the new Skoda, the focus and the 206 are all hatchback style bodies though, and i don't think a Subaru would look right as a hatch...

For the record, I'm a big fan of the hatch back.

Out of curiosity, why would anything from Subaru be considered odd? This is the company that has put everything from the Brat/Baja to the Justy to the SVX!
that and let's not forget they were the first ones to decide to give a station wagon all wheel drive and more SUV like ground clearence, yet now look who's doing the same thing *cough* Volvo Audi etc.

Petter Solberg just wooped the pants off the small cars in Australia!!! woohoo. i would personally love to see a coupe in the line up for subaru again. but i don't think its the only way for them to win a wrc championship. and as mentioned above, Mitsu is staying with the 4dr. style EVO, and Peugeot will be running a larger car for 04.
also, i think it would be ashame to see all hatchbacks in the wrc. it would be too much like seeing allllllll 4dr. grocery-getters in nascar.
