they call the g35 here in japan the skyline, but its not the gt R skyline, the g35 here is a 3.5 v6
while the gt r skyline in japan is inline 6 2.6 liter
and their skyline/g35 there is v6 also but called skyline.

The RB26 is no more, it has ceased to be (He's sleeping!). All Skylines will now have a variant of the VQ35 that's in every Nissan now. Why don't they just put it in the Sentra, anyway?
You should really ask a question like this on www.freshalloy.com since there a lot of cali people that have had to deal with this.
The nissan skyline has a had a lot of different engines but the sr was never one of them let alone an sr never left the factory in a TT state. RB26 is just a impractical engine when it comes to swapping it in another car so its just not seen a lot unless its someone high end doing it like Top secret(RB26 powered supra). If a 240\180\silvia owner goes with anything besides a sr its usually for the RB25 or CA(Cheap and solid).
Like ban said the current skyline in japan(G35 here) runs the VQ35 series(Same as 350z). Rumor has it that next year we are suppose to get a AWD G35, which is a pretty solid rumor. The real question is will it have twin turbos attach to that VQ and if so will they still call it a G35.

I don't quite know where this rumor has come from, but I don't believe that Nissan has confirmed that the next GT-R will have a VQ, or that it will even share any portion of its platform with the G35/Z/Skyline. It's not even coming out until 2007...
I realize the current Skyline is a G35, but this does not necessarily mean that the next GT-R will be, that's awhile from now.
