1996 was the first year fot the 4.6. The Cobra R came out in 1999.

Really? So the Mustang V8's from 94 through 96 were 5.0? Dang I never knew that, new knowledge for me! What was the difference in performance between 5 and 4.6 liter?

 

Yeah, 95 was the last year for the 5.0. My buddy has a 94 GT with the 5.0. The 4.6 is DOHC, I dont think the 5.0 is overhead. From what I remember the 4.6 makes more power too. It also gets better fuel economy.
