skip barbers experience

Today I went driving with a guy who went to the Skip Barber racing school. Wow. What an experience, I learned more in the half hour I drove with him than the 3 years I've been racing through the backroads on my own. I learned how to double clutch properly, more importantly WHY to double clutch, how to do the whole heel/ toe driving/ braking, where to brake, how to go through a turn.. it was just awesome. A few months ago, if anyone remembers, I posted something about aggressive driving. If anyone read that post, nevermind!

I didn't go to the school, I drove with someone that went to the school and he taught me a ton of stuff. So yes, I did get to drive my own car. LOL, I don't have 2 or 3 grand to drop on a few days of driving school. The cars they drove there were sort of like wannabe f1 cars, minus all the aero stuff (and horsepower lol).

You guys should try autoX w/ the SCCA. Get some cheap experience and lots of people to talk to about driving.
