Hey i know there are alot of variables involved, but can anyone tell me roughly how many car lenghts a one second lead is?

newbie question...but wtvr

 

need to know the speed. at 60 miles an hour you are going 1 mile aminute dived the mile by 60 secounds and you have about 7 car lengths at 30 mph 3.5 car lenghts and at 120mph 14 car lengths. so the faster you go the more car lengths between car lengths are need for saftey.

 

Ohh i see how that works, but lemme give a real life example, lets say a stock wrx races a stock sti, and the difference between them is one second and they are both traveling 90 mph, this means the cars will be 10.5 carlengths apart?
