The SE-R Spec V has a 2.5L DOHC I4 that puts out 175 HP and 180 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs about 2800 pounds. It runs low to mid 15's in the 1/4 mile with a good driver. I am a former owner of a '93 SE-R (SR20DE) with boltons. I am frankly unimpressed with the new SE-R. It just doesn't compare to the original (B13) SE-R in my opinion.
Oh, and considering the WRX runs low to mid 14's with a good driver, I don't think you will have much of a problem judging the outcome of such a race.

Just to add insult to injury, race him on curves (make sure you drive your car enough to feel comfortable with throttle in the curves) and/or when it's wet (again, make sure you are comfortable before doing this). As always, make sure you're in a safe location...sometimes these "testoterol displays" have a way of turning into the "oh ****"s pretty quickly.

The kid is obviously a rice boy. And like all rice boys he has a false sense of security about his cars abilities. If he did just a little research before running his mouth then he could see that he has little to no chance of winning against a WRX. From a role or a stop, it doesn't matter. You'll cream him
BTW. . . I heard that the SE-R doesn't even produce the power on the dyno that Nissan says it does (SCC mag). Sounds like hype to me.

watch out i have heard of those things beating cars with twice as much power...all be-it mostly from thier owners who seem not to grasp physics (sp).
check a nissan board and you will hear of these things smoking GTP's, Impalla SS, i once read a thread about a guy who thought he beat a vette...it was from a rolling stop.
so be careful if one of these special physics deffying FWD monsters was sold to this kid I would run and hide. Mind you if it was one of those lemons like the one tested by SCC you should be OK
