Pocket Dyno (iPhone app)

Pretty cool app and it is free.

I haven't tried it yet but I will give it a shot in the next couple of days...

Description:
Pocket Dyno Lite is a performance meter for your vehicle. Bring your car to a complete stop. Press the Quickstart button. Accelerate!
Pointless? Well, maybe to some … but if you get it, welcome to the world of drag racing. It’s all about launching skills, shifting skills, traction and horsepower. Pocket Dyno Lite will test you and your machine. Measure performance before and after modifications to find out what works.
Try Pocket Dyno Lite for free, then check out Pocket Dyno+ with even more great features for the real performance enthusiast.
Pocket Dyno Lite Features:
* Updated, easier to use calibration screen
* Estimated horsepower
* 0 to 60 mph and/or 0 to 100 km/h time
* Max G’s, velocity, and distance
* Imperial or metric results based on locale
Remember street racing is dangerous and illegal. Please use this software responsibly.
Note about accuracy:
Pocket Dyno uses the iPhone’s accelerometer, which measures motion. It is possible to "fake out" the accelerometers by shaking and tilting, just as it is with G-Tac or Dynolicious. So for accurate results you must:
* Run the calibration just before a run
* Mount or secure the device in your car so that it does not move during a run
* Make sure you are at a complete stop when you tap the Quickstart button
* Accelerate in a straight line on level ground.
* Accurate horsepower readings require the exact weight of your vehicle including passengers, fuel, and cargo. Pocket Dyno Lite provides three average weight values - so horsepower readings will only be accurate if you match one of the provided weights. If you need accurate horsepower readings please consider buying Pocket Dyno+
This app could be a bad thing and a good thing.
