dang, that sucks that your lhs is closing. too many kids not interested in models and RC cars i guess...
i usually check out the annual chicago hobby show's but they
have become pretty lame the last few years. HPI didn't even
participate...

hey man im 16 and the lhs closed here about a year ago. i was in there all the time looking for paints and whatnot. now all the owner does is teach math at my high school. but that richie has so many nice cars. austin healy, pontiac firebird, and thats his daily drivers.

i ordered a 1/18th scale 22b about a month and a hallf ago. the port strike caused it to never leave china, so its just now getting sent out.
Craig at scalecars.com sent me an email:

make sure they have one undamaged in stock before you order.
i still dont have mine, but supposedly it was shipped from them to me on friday, i thought it would be here today but its not.
USPS priority mail too.

i got my 22b tonight.
but, heres the email i had to send scalecars.com:

I got the 22b tonight.
However, to my suprise and disbelief, ITS DAMAGED!
The door on the left hand side (passenger door, in this case, the 22b is a RHD car) was not even on it when i opened the box.
To make things worse, the mirror on that door was not on right, so it fell off.
This is getting on my nerves. I paid 62 DOLLARS for this and after two months, when i finally get it, its damaged.
Please call me.

i ordered this in early november. the one they had was damaged, so they had to order from china. the port strike prevented it from getting here soon, and i wasnt too worried about it. i was pleased i would get an undamaged 22b 1/18th scale. now i finally get it and its damaged. im not ordering from them again, and i dont suggest anyone does.
