Non Suby projects...

This the proper place for this?

Just wondering if any of you guys have non suby related projects you're working on?

My caddy is going to see the road pretty soon here. Was hoping to have it running this past weekend but some electrical gremlins slowed it down and now there's some odd issue with the dizzy.

It's cool though. Gives me time to work on the interior and body/paint.

So far...
Rebuilt top end
lowered... a lot with all rebuilt suspension components... only thing I want to rebuild that hasn't been rebuilt is the leaf pack.
shaved the handles
nosed
decked
shaved the antenna
battery relocated to trunk
Floors/roof and doors sound deadened
new exhaust with glass packs
new carpet

to do.
get it running. LOL.
I've got some sample materials coming so I can start the interior. I'm doing the doors myself. I'll have some tuck and roll done on the seats professionally.
New chrome
Body work
Paint.

Plan is to have everything but the chrome work completed by the end of september. Here it is right now...

Hey Ray, is that first picture a recent one? Or from when you first got the project?

I plan to start turning wrench(es) on the benz again in the next month or so.

Recent. It was taken when we put the motor back in.

I had put some dough away YEARS ago and was looking for a car. I was actually looking for a 49-54 chevy or a 48-53 chevy pickup or 55 cameo. But I searched 1953 on craigslist and this caddy was the first car on the list. It was my buddies car. So I called him... he was asking $4700. I told him I'd come down with $3500 cash today and he said sure...

He then took that $3500 and went and bought a 64 convertible lincoln continental. We registered our cars together. LOL. Then we went to his house and fixed all the vacuum issues and windows on the lincoln and drove out to The Lost Weekend in Alameda. Week later he flipped the lincoln for $7500 with a functioning convertible top and all windows... haaaa.

Only bummer is my dumb *** buddy spray painted over the original paint with orchard flat black... Otherwise it would be a rad patina dark maroon. So bummed.

I have been spending some time making my 1996 Acura GSR into quite a little runner. I got the car from a good friend for $1500 and have put about $550 into the car.

Mods thus far..

K&N short ram intake
1999 usdm type-R red top
HKS cutback with magna flow high flow cat
Coilovers and misalanous handle mods

To come

Type-R front seats
Header
16" wheels/track tires
Rear seat delite
Tint
Remover small dings from city driving.

So far I love the car and I will post more pics as I continue the project. Also this is the DD and gets me an average of 33-36 mpg on 91

Here are some shots over the years
(started body work and had fun with it lol)

well i ended up doin the engine in this one too Put in a new 1600cc

Got Paint

Redid all the carpeting, put in original "low-back" style seats and got rid of the head rests. New rear seat cover, new door cards, stereo

Before/After

Had this car for almost 7 years. LOVED it! I put over $7500 in and sold it for about $4300. Used most of that for a down payment for my wrx. I would love to do another bug years from now, and do it up even better!
