Nissan give ¡¦05 Altima the SE-R treatment
Altima Nissan¡¦s refreshed-for-2005 Altima gets a kick in the pants this September with the arrival of the performance-tuned SE-R version, which makes its public debut at the New York Auto Show (open to the public April 9-18). Buy the SE-R and Nissan promises lots of pluses from its 3.5-liter dohc V6: 250-plus hp, 250-plus lb-ft of torque. You also get a performance-tuned suspension, W-speed-rated tires and 18-inch alloy wheels, and sporty exterior and interior treatments including the 350Z¡¦s three-pod gauge cluster.

So, they detuned the engine they put in the Maxima (265hp) to put into the V6 Altima (250hp).
Then they release a SE-R version of the Altima with better suspension, tires, wheels and other goodies...
Interesting, if didn't need/desire AWD, that would be a good car to test drive.
