What does everyone think of the new Saab ( or Saabaru as i call them)? should we let owners become new members, banish them like the odd bastards they are ( speculation ) , or just run them off the road? ( Berry would choose the third one, i know it? ) i actually saw three of them here, all silver, in san carlos about an hour ago, rolling with a red WRX wagon. they actually look sweet, for a " hybrid ".

Seriously, it's more of the Subaru family than Saab.
I think its better
I like the looks, the interior, exterior, and steering better, plus I think they upgraded the suspension, and made it ride smoother. And subaru makes it, it is actually made in the same plant as the wrx. If I could afford a wrx, I think i'd buy the saab instead, that being said, go 99 OBS! They don't offer the sedan or sti tho, and in my opnion Saab was very clever in using the wrx, and got a great deal (even tho I don't know what that deal was
plus the parts are cross swappable to some extent, so now maybe well get even more aftermarket parts, or at least more dealer options. I don't know. Anyway, I say they're the same

O very good, that makes more sense. When reading the car and driver article, I found it amusing how similar it is, and yet how they improved the saab. And remember wondering who'd actually buy a wrx wagon when for 3k more you get a quieter, more refined, better handling car with the better steering rack, with a better waranty (tho w/ mods that wouldn't matter), and IMO better looks.
i was reading about this on Saab's website, maybe i read it wrong but i thought that only the non-turbo version was AWD and that the turbo was TWD. Please correct me if i am wrong. If I'm not i want a rear drive trans for my scooby.

I wonder if the some of those body parts would fit my '03 wagon? ie: sideskirts, rear hatch, rear tails, rear bumper cover... Rims are dope too... IMO. what do u guys think???
totally agree, not that I dislike the wrx, but I like the lower profile scoop, the rear, and front as well as the interior (leather, climate control, etc)
BOTH ARE AWD, I think u misunderstood the limited slip rear differential to be RWD, not sure tho, but IT IS AWD
there sights 360 is amusing tho because the tail pipe seems to switch sides

I put leather in my WRX wagon over 3 years ago. If these would have been available then, I would have definitely considered it. I like the front end a little better on the Saabaru, but the leather only cost ~1grand. I might have paid an extra 1.5-2 grand for the Saab, depending on how nice the upholstery was...
