New car decision: STi V.S used Benz E55 AMG
I'm torn between getting a new STi or buying my uncle's used 2000 Benz E55 AMG. The E55 is meticulously maintained, and has about 40K miles on it. He's selling it for $35000. But on the other hand, I've always wanted to get an STi modify it to be a low 11 second street machine.
Either way, I'm selling my WRX to pay for the new car. So help me decide!!! Which one to get.

The Benz would be very expensive to modify but i would get the e55. I believe when it came out a few years ago it was the fast benz. Dont know any numbers though. But its clean as hell.

Benz. Nicer car. No brainer.
Plus the blue book (private party, excellent condition) is $46,210. Even rated at "fair" condition the book indicates a value over $40K. If you've got family willing to give you a discount, take it!

Personally id get the sti. That benz is old news already. Dont get me wrong its gorgeous, but the new E55 that will be coming out will make that benz look like sh&t. In every aspect.(performance and looks)

get the E55 hands down old news or not it has everything you could want in a car...

And that was a 4.8 sec car which will make it faster that most people w/sti's because its unlikely they will get the launch exactly right and nail the shift

the new E55 has been out. and actually, in recent tests its beated the M5, S-Type R, and the Audi RS6. it is also the fastest sedan in production today. just like the 500, you can raise, and lower your car, set 3 different modes for your suspension.

Get the E55, I think that version had 349hp/391lb-ft. Plus, it looks better inside and out. Mercedes' also hold their value really well. But, now that all depends on what you're looking for and how you're going to use the car.
