Please leave your personal recommendations.
if it costs a lot of money, it must be good.

4 tickets in 13 months.
Borrowed the bosses' V1 when he was out of town... it saved me from a speeding ticket on the way home.
Haven't been pulled over in the 3 1/2 years since.
It's paid for itself. I highly recommend it.

It doesn't make up for being stupid, but it will let you know where the cops using radar are hanging out.
It's been rumored for some time that the insurance companies are buying the cops LIDAR guns, which use laser instead of RADAR. The V1 senses the laser, but by the time you're painted with it, you're busted.

Not sure if this works or not. But supposedly it increases the time to get a reading and that time gives the driver a chance to slow down.

Yep valentine 1, worth the $400... thats less then 1 ticket if you figure insurance rate hike. I'v had it for a year now and its awsome, saved me tons of times. Also good thing with Valentine 1 is you can send it in to get upgraded, instead of having to buy a whole new radar detector when new radar gun technology comes out.
Blinder Laser Jammer....
research it. http://www.radardetector.net/index.p...9a85d087bf37c8
Blinder is on the Veil site as well... http://www.laserveil.com/laser/jamme...rs-guide/2006/

I just purchased the Beltronics RX65 PRO. After much debate and quite a bit of research, I decided on this detector. It's superior performance in almost every test that I reviewed, consistantly in the top 3. Every bit as useful as the V1. The number one reason I chose this detector over the V1 is because it eliminates more false alarms. I chose the RX65 over the Passort 8500 X50 because it has much better sensativity, longer range, voice prompt. I've had the Escort 8500(non X50) for a couple of years. It's time to pass it on to my wife. I will be taking both detectors with me to Portland for Subie fest. This should be a good comparison between the newer and older technology. Bel and Escort are the same company now. Tech/functionality should be about the same. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Most manufacturers offer a 30day money back. Buy a couple of them and try them out side by side. Research what you feel will be best for you.
