MY pre-GTR Nissan...

So, as I've mentioned in a prior thread, I sold my 06 STI because I was preparing to finally get a new GTR. Essentially, it was a move to save money from the cost of the car, gas, and insurance, and also to reduce the opportunities that the lovely local police agencies had to ticket me.

I decided to get an 08 Forester for the meantime since I got a killer deal on one and because cops never notice them. I got an N/A Sports with auto. I loved the space, but hated the auto and the utter lack of power.

After a few months, I've decided that driving the Forester was too much of a downgrade from the STI. Given the special Infiniti offers lately, I decided to get an 08 G37S.

Still breaking it in, but here are my initial impressions (in random order):

-love the snug, power seats
-like the moonroof, but hate the severely reduced headroom compared with the STI and Forester / >6' beware!
-love the nav and console, and the interior overall
-chassis feels solid, much stiffer than a stock STI
-the car is bigger than it seems; took about the same amount of garage space as the Forester
-4WS feels very responsive, sometimes too responsive; will wait and see how it'll feel after I can really drive it
-the 6-speed feels kinda notchy, although I like that it has a short-throw from the factory
-the clutch is alot firmer than the stock STI's
-small trunk compared to the STI, but it does have fold-down seats
-love the stock exhaust sound
-very quiet, and the bose system sounds great
-dislike the lack of dvd-nav, but like that it has a several GB HD
-dislike that it's so new, that there aren't too many clearly established mods yet, unlike anything for the Subarus lol
-so far, haven't found anything resembling a forum community like i-club for G37 owners

Mods planned:
-Volks first and Advan tires / probably 20s because the stock size is 19
-stoptech 6 pots and 4 pots rear - cause they look badass
-coilovers perhaps / have to wait and see which ones have been used the most and are tried and true for comfort and appearance
-maybe cai and full exhaust - I didn't buy this car for speed really, mainly for looks and luxury, so I'm not really planning anything to make it go faster - we'll see in time

Anyhow, that's it. It's completely stock so it's kinda pointless to post pics. It's platinum graphite, which apparently seems to be the most popular color of all. (just my luck...)

Cheers.

So to save money for a really expensive car, you bought an inexpensive car, and then got rid of it for an expensive car... to modify it??????

ahaha. You fail.

I feel you though. Right now I'm still modding my car telling myself giving it mad handling and 600hp will prevent me from buying a GTR when they start selling at MSRP.

The truth is though I'm probably going to spend another 10 grand on this ole' WRX and still end up getting a gtr. Saving money isn't easy in today's world...

I just looked up the GTR. MSRP is around 70K. I'm going to sell everything I own and buy one. I'm still not sure where the other 69.9K are going to come from, but I hear sperm donation pays well.
