They would rally the 3 if they planned to rally at all. But since Ford owns Mazda, and is already rallying the Focus (same car as the 3 more or less) there's really no point in ford spending the money.

So is it 190 to the wheels? If not phew......that would of been some tough competition.

It is. That's a joke because every stinken vehicle that mazda puts out never meets the initial rating in hp... not the miata, not the mazda speed protege, rx-8 blah. So then they give them back 500-1000 bucks, free lifetime warranty work, or they offer to buy back the car entirely. True story.
So this guy was poking fun... cuz after that offering wiper blades would be a lil insulting.

I had a Mazda GLC years ago, until it dropped dead of exhaustion. It was good little goer, even then ('85) and cheap to run. If Mzda now wants to get up on all 4's, maybe Subaru will take some cues from the aftermarket with improved intake/exhaust, better (faster) spooling and the like that can be done with little or no effect on reliability, cold weather operation, etc. I would like to see the market (literally) heat up a little. Besides, how long with Mitsu be in biz? We need someone for a playmate.

*spitchaH!!!* i spit thee out of my mouth!

mazda swine! my brother owns a mazda-
actually i'd like to see one in a WRC event- that would be cool to see the focus tent and the mazda tent adjacent to each other.

Whoa there, big Dogg.... no need for vomit ;-)
I don't know what your personal vendetta is against Mazda, but I disagree. My g-friend has a Protege, and it's rock solid. I see Mazda as a cool company, putting a lot of style and sportiness into their designs, at reasonable prices. They are distinguishing themselves from the 'bland pack' of Hondas/ Toy's, and offering a lot of bang-for-the buck.
The 3 wagon has a sunroof, HIDs, sport-shift in the auto, steering-wheel stereo/cruise controls, tire pressure monitoring, Navigation offered,..... Compare that to the 'new' RS Wagon. And I think the Mazda would be quicker, too. No AWD, that's all Suby has on it. And a transmission-breaking problem.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Rex. It's what I bought, after all (between it and the 6). Yes, Mazda had some hiccups with the power of the RX-8, but who's perfect? **** happens, that's life. At least they had the ***** to bring back the Rotary and design a new "4-door" sports car.
I love Subaru.
But I like Mazda, also.
Peace.

yeah i was overreacting-
mazda is very good in terms of marketing- and putting out nice cars.
naturally since i work for subaru- i see them as a competitor now... if they come out with an awd sedan-
but we'll see.

The GLC ('85) that died on me had 225K/miles, with little work, ever. But after the ac went, the battery stopped, the clutch was slipping and some overheating happened, I gave it to a non-profit agency that does something with cars (I am not sure what) and gave me a tax gift letter for book value. Mine certainly was not in top condition, but that didn't matter. OBTW, only 4 sets of tires in 225K! Now that Ford has Mazda, I would expect some Fords to be built better, and even though the Focus rallies pretty well, there would be nothing to stop Ford/Mazda to use one marque here, the other there! Again, Let Subie (General Motors, after all) play some catchup! FWD still is a must here in ol' NY where the snow does fall!
