Idk,.. a friend of mine told me about it. We're both skeptic about it and we talked to this guy who owns this shop and says that it gives an average increase of 7 mpg. Just wondering if anyone tried these stuff or if you know anyone who tried it.

I've tried gas pills. I take them right before I go to a boring party. Man, it's like I'm breaking wind all evening. And I'm not talking about those little poofy farts but those giant belching ones that sound like a flock of geese calling or trumpets, LOL.

Gas pills are another snake oil product, like Slick 50 or cow magnets on the fuel line. All hype - delivers nothing. Save your money.

I myself have been curious to try them, but am bit skeptic about it. I did attend this meeting they had about it once and one of the things they mentioned was that these "gas pills" actually maintained your engine glean and were also beneficiary to the environment. My gf said she`ll try them out so I`ll just have to wait and see.

Any additive testing is better when the subject does not know if something has been added to the gas tank or not. Blind testing is the way to go so that driving habits are not altered and results skewed. A daily commute that doesn't vary is also good. Also, calculate actual mileage, not mile per tankful, which is a guess at best.

I'm more than a little skeptical. I think it's pure baloney. JC Whitney used to sell 'fire injector' spark plugs. You can order a Tornado Fuel Saver for just about any car. These all promise a great deal - more power using less fuel. Lots of testimonials from folks who swear by them but no truly independent lab tests with quantified results. Wouldn't you think that Consumer Reports would have done a study if any of these products lived up to the hype? People buy these products because they want to believe that do indeed deliver what they promise. It's sad.

The guys on Mythbusters tested a few of these different 'miracle' gas saving products using controlled conditions, a dyno, injectors compared with carburettas etc and they showed that they were all bogus.

The only way to reliably save gas money that they found was to buy a diesel and run it on filtered vegetable oil (biodiesel)

The only thing wrong with their vegetable oil scheme was that they forgot one important factor. When you let the car sit, the oil starts to harden, which in turn can clog fuel filters, lines, and injectors. There's certain ways to combat that, such as running a heater inside the tank for a certain amount of time prior to driving the car, to doing some crazy filtering process that was on Dirty Jobs.
