dent while in shop

My Rs has been in the shop for a month and a half for transmission work. It's just about done, but when I went to check on it last, there was a 3" dent/paint streak on the edge of the front right fender right above the wheel(on the crease). I told the guy I was pissed and I thought he should have it fixed, but he said it was there for so long something was bound to happen and it's not his fault. should I just fix it myself, or make him fix it and have someone who's pissed at me work on my tranny?

I'd look into the Better Business Bureau. See what they say.
If they haven't been able to fix you car for "so long" that's an excuse for tehm to damage it? That's BS.

Call the BBB, give them the info (without the shop's name) and see what they recommend, then go from there. Sometimes mentioning the BBB will get you some progress.

Good luck.
