Dad wants to sell my suby on me
Ight this is whats up...i have had this car for about a year now...its an 2002 aspen white wrx...i love this car to death...i recently have blown the tranny and had it replaced with a brand new one and brand new clutch....my dad is obstinant about keeping it because he thinks the car is a lemon and that it will just blow the new tranny again... i have it back now and my dad wants me to get a for sale sign and put it on the car....i keep refusing to do so lol....i need some opinions (good ones ) so i can show my dad what everyone think about keeping the car...this might show him something to think about me being able to keep my car...thanks and please get back to me with replys
if you learned to drive stick on this car than that's probably what killed the tranny, they aren't known for being super strong, but if you aren't an idiot you should be fine.

Well, I'd suggest starting to save some money to put aside for repairs. If you show the willingness to help with the costs of things breaking, then he may respect that, considering you're putting some of YOUR money on the line. I'd also recommend that you not mention modding the car for more HP, and drive it responsibly.

Sign an agreement to pay for all maintenance and car insurance costs yourself. Your dad shouldn't have to pay for possible future repairs to yet another tranny or blown engine from mods like the mbc you installed without engine management. By assuming financial responsibility, he might be willing to let you continue to keep the car. The reality is that if your dad made the car payments and the vehicle title is in his name, it's his car to do as he wishes.

dont let him sell it, tranny (especially wrx 5spd of 02) is a wear item and so is clutch. Tell your dad you dont want to **** him off but he needs to get his facts straight. Sounds like the direction he is headed may end up costing more than to just keep the wrx. You got a new tranny, i mean there is no reason to dump it, parts arent taht expensive.
In all seriousness have him take the car to get checked out buy a good sub dealership (HAHA) or a good mech. He is just worrying about something that probably wont happen. Its an 02 i m ean how long does he expect the clutch to last, he should kno wrx has weak tranny/clutch especially with a kid driving it

Since you live in Jersey, be sure to mention that the AWD is added safety in the snow. It does snow there, right?
And like everyone else has already said, quit beating the crap out of the tranny.
