Hi people, have a few questions if you could help that would be great. My current car is 03 20th Gti 377whp stock internals on 93 daily driver, always liked the scooby.Question is how much would it cost$$ to achive same whp on a 06/07 scooby??what are the options??and would you have to upgrade internals?I dont know much about these cars and performance upgrades available, but i know out of the factory they go like stink,id just fancy around 400whp on pumpgas and stock internals and realiability is this possible?,oh and traction in first 3gears would be a nice change.http://www.vwtraderonline.com/volksw...4931149750.php

400whp is a little unecessary, Especially on a dailly driver. That's an 11 second WRX. That sort of power isn't even that easy to come by on the STI or the Evo. 300whp is plenty of power for that car and will be plenty reliable as a daily driver.

who's to say what's enough?

To anwser your question(STi). People have been having nice streetable setup's on FP Greens. this is ballpark, and assuming everything goes right. We all know with modding a car everything goes right

FP Green 8cm with oil feed $1700
FMIC $500-1200
BOV $250-$500
Injectors $500
Fuel Pump $100
TBE $1000
Engine management $500-600
Tunning (depending on # of maps) $200-$1500
Big MAF $250?

So add it up and yeah have fun and stuff. Should be good for a mid 11 car with decent driver.

injectors for $500 where are you getting those things at?
Just go with a big turbo, injectors, chip, boost controller, and you should be set depending on who tunes it.
Really 400whp in a subaru is a sick car.....that is a low 11's to a high 10's and also you are going to worry about spinning that is going to suck in a AWD car
Good luck with your sube
(I have a 315whp sube and i have alot of blot-ons)(not including a bigger turbo)

I am sure a lot of turbos can do the job, for me personally and my streetable setup the green makes the most sense. Balance between spool and top end.

Unless you plan on doing all of the install work yourself, don't forget the labor to get all those parts on your car.

Just be sure to have the brakes to handle the power. That is probably 500 times more important. There is nothing like taking a 400whp car and then not being able to stop it properly.

Don't worry about a boost controller, it would be potentially harmful to your engine. That's what the 'chip' is for...engine management like a cobb accessport controls the boost.

nobody has mentioned anything about upgrading driveshafts and axles or transmission to handle all this new power. 400 whp... think about that... add back another 30% because of drivetrain loss, just how much power the crank and engine internals take before snapping?

You're looking at more money than just power there, you're going to need a stronger foundation to take around 500 hp at the crank.

ok well transmission should handle all that horse just depending on how you drive, and maybe a clutch........but internals are good and all that(o and i would be sure to get a boost controller)
