can the imprezza L take an sti swap

i was wondering if the imprezza L could hold an sti swap without having to make too many adjustments to the engine bay; could i use the stock tranny, engine mounts, things of that sort?

hey

yes, you can swap an sti motor into L. i assume you mean the pre 2002 models correct?. tranny wise i suggest staying with the 6sp. it can also be squished under the car, but you will need a different (custom) down pipe made. you will also need to swap a rear diff to match the front diffs ratio.

it would be pricey, but it shure would e worh the effort.

i dont have any first hand experience with it, but have seen it on the internet a few times... my buddy has a 98 2.5rs and is getting ready to do the sti 6 swap (the japanese motor)
