Brand or quality?

I think for me the most important thing is quality.
I love the review sections of forums for trying to deturman the quaily of products. Its just about impossible to tell the quailty of a product online without these sections.

Quality, for sure. Actually I would prefer that there weren't any logos or brands on my products. I want something that is such a good quality that they don't need to advertise their name everywhere. Buying online does make it difficult though. I find myself sending things back all of the time. Sometimes the reviews are hard to trust.
Quality is most important. But then again, in most cases a brand name becomes a recognizable name due to good quality. There are a few cases where that isn't true (where a brand name loses quality over time), but all in all, usually brand and quality are combined, not mutually exclusive.

You might see a name brand have a bad batch but compared to the amount produced it is small potatoes. I would guess all the big name brands(APS,Cusco,Cobb,Greddy,Invidia,IHI,...) probably have failure rates lower than 5% of what they produce. It's funny though cause if a name brand has a bad batch count on all the nasioc bandwagoners to jump all over that brand and how crappy it is and how much they charge for it. You are really flipping a coin buying ebay stuff imho.

Please don't compare CUSCO and Greddy to Invidia. IHI is not really a brand name. It is, but noone buys VF34 because of their brand. They buy them because there are no OEM quality bolt on replacements.
COBB and APS are deffinetely good brand names, but not as established as CUSCO or GReddy.
